Our Therapist

Rachel Kemp, MS, LPC-MHSP

TN lic. #4648

Rachel has been working in the mental health field for almost 15 years, working with at-risk teens and their parents, using behavioral interventions as well as CBT techniques. Rachel also has experience with foster children and foster parent support, and has prior work and knowledge in the areas of probation and juvenile justice. Rachel has a heart for those who want to better themselves and find themselves amidst all their other life responsibilities, as well as a heart for those with addiction issues, working toward and through their recovery.

Rachel is trained in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), and Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST). Rachel has a vast knowledge of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and using a systemic and trauma-informed approach to build one's support system to be most successful.

Rachel received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. After her move to Tennessee, she entered the work force in the mental health arena, and was able to complete her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2015. Rachel became a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Mental Health Service Provider designation in 2019.

Rachel finds her own peace, joy, and fulfillment when being able to spend time with her family of four sons, her husband, and her pets. She also enjoys volunteering in her community with the Emmanuel House, helping women and children work toward their goals while in the stable living arrangement at the house. She is excited to have HeartWell Counseling to realize her dream of helping those locally to fulfill their own dreams by pulling their hearts out of the darkness of their wells and into the light of their calling in life.
